Will you shape the future or will the future shape you?
The opportunity
EY-Parthenon’s unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions and corporate finance delivers real-world value – solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity.
With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, Boards, Private Equity and Governments every step of the way – enabling you to shape your future with confidence.
Your key responsibilities
As an Investment Banking Intern with EY Capital Advisors (EYCA), EY’s team of Investment Banking advisors, you’ll join a close-knit team of professionals, working on live deals (e.g., mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, sale mandates, refinancings, acquisition financings, etc.). You will support deal teams working directly with clients ranging from corporate management teams to business owners beginning on day one. Working at EYCA provides you the opportunity to develop highly specialized investment banking skills and build a network of industry, private equity, law firm and banking contacts. If you’re looking for a hands-on role that will open up new opportunities based on your skills, interests and ambitions, this role is for you.
Whether it’s performing industry research, analyzing detailed financial statements, writing an offering memorandum, identifying potential investors or building complex valuation or leveraged finance models, you’ll use a diverse range of tools and techniques – so each day will present new challenges. As an Intern at EYCA, you’ll be given significant responsibility and attain the skills and experience to become a thoughtful, strategic advisor.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have:
An achieved or predicted degree, ideally with a concentration in finance.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.
The expectation for this role is in person teaming, at client site or in an EY office, a minimum of 60% of the time or on average 3 days a week over the course of an engagement, project or performance year.
Ideally, you will have:
A preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
An understanding of the fundamentals of investment banking, accounting, private equity and financial markets.
Excellent problem solving, organization and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Strict attention to detail, quick learner, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Mastery across the Microsoft Office program suite.
The confidence to communicate effectively, challenge assumptions and speak up with new ideas on how to improve our services.
The ability to work a demanding schedule and willingness to travel when necessary.
Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
