As Finance organizations increasingly adopt artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics, our professionals help clients reimagine how work gets done. You will collaborate with clients to deliver innovative AI-enabled solutions, leverage leading AI tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of consulting engagements, and help redesign finance processes, operating models, and decision-making capabilities for the future.

Your key responsibilities

Our Finance Consulting team helps CFOs and finance organizations improve, evolve, and transform the finance function. We bring a unique business perspective that combines strategy, process, technology, data, and analytics to help clients enhance performance, improve decision-making, and create long-term value.

As part of the team, you'll work on high-impact initiatives that help finance leaders unlock growth, increase efficiency, and navigate complex business challenges. You'll contribute to finance transformation visions, strategies, and operating models, support the development of business cases for change, and help redesign core finance processes, including FP&A, Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash.

You'll collaborate with business and technology leaders to implement solutions across planning, forecasting, reporting, consolidation, analytics, and performance management. By leveraging data, automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics, you'll help clients modernize finance operations, improve decision-making, and deliver measurable business outcomes. Through this work, you'll support the development of more agile, data-driven, and future-ready finance functions.

Industry sectors

Our professionals are focused in three different industry sectors within which there are various opportunities available to start your career. The Government & Infrastructure (G&I) servesfederal clients, as well as state and local agencies and higher education institutions.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must:

  • Be pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in finance, accounting, information systems, business or a relevant discipline, supported by a strong academic record.
  • Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring clear and effective interactions with team members and clients.
  • Understand that the expectation for this role is in person teaming, at a client site or in an EY office, on average 3 days a week depending on the needs of the engagement, project or practice area.
  • Have access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
  • Be able and willing to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.

In addition to the qualifications listed above, candidates applying to the Government & Infrastructure overnment & Public Sector practice must:

  • Have U.S. citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher, within the designated time frame, which will be determined by the engagement requirements for a security clearance.

Ideally you:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
    • A growth-oriented mindset, curiosity to learn, and the ability to innovate and adapt in dynamic business environments.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues and develop practical solutions.
    • Knowledge of finance and accounting processes, including planning and forecasting, financial reporting, close and consolidation, treasury, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and management reporting.
    • Strong data literacy, including experience analyzing structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights.
    • Experience with business technologies and productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other analytics and data visualization platforms.
    • The ability to leverage AI tools effectively to enhance work quality and efficiency, critically assess outputs, identify exceptions, and apply sound business judgment.
    • An interest in transforming finance functions through people, process, data, controls, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.
    • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
    • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams, stakeholders, and business functions.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $78,000 to $88,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
