The opportunity
The Americas Assurance Transactional and Technical Topics (“T3”) group encompasses the centralization of EY audit efforts in complex audit areas to a specialized team of professionals who work closely with internal engagement teams to assess risk, plan, and execute, and evidence work using a structured approach and standardized documentation. As part of the energy sector within our T3 group, we work with our clients on a variety of commodity markets related topics supporting and delivering audits and technical expertise on complex accounting and derivatives valuation matters.

As a 360 Careers Intern, you’ll participate in structured, skills-based experiences called “expeditions” which support your career interest and expand your business knowledge to become a well-rounded professional. Expeditions may include experiences across the Assurance and Tax service lines within various sectors and account types.
Your key responsibilities
- Identify potential audit issues or unusual relationships in financial statements with detailed analytical trend analysis.
- Demonstrate professionalism while working in clients’ environments and providing exceptional service.
- Operate effectively in a regulated environment, with a focus on protecting the capital markets and the investing public.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our clients to provide definitive auditing services that the capital markets and the client can rely upon.
- Share the story of value-added insights discovered through data analysis with our clients.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Have or be working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business discipline. Accounting strongly preferred.
- Meet the minimal educational requirements for CPA licensure in your work state prior to beginning full-time employment and have a demonstrable plan for passing the CPA exam.
- An understanding or interest in commodity markets, financial instruments, and regulations.
- Excellent English language communication skills.
- The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
- Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as rideshare and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
Ideally, you will have
- A strong academic record, including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position.
- Strong verbal communication, presentation and writing skills.
- Demonstrated leadership through extra-curricular activities and/or student-led University organizations.

- The hourly pay range for this job, in the US, is $36.00-$45.19 per hour. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
