The opportunity

Our US Treasury Advisory Services team is a market-leading, nationwide practice led by treasury professionals from the corporate, banking and treasury technology areas. We work side by side with finance leaders in the largest organizations operating in the technology, manufacturing, consumer products, energy, utilities, automotive, transportation and health care market segments. We are always ready with tailored treasury insights that drive value for our clients. As an intern, you’ll play a leading role in that goal, driving growth and contributing to teams using your finance knowledge, problem-solving skills and interest in cash and treasury management.

It’s a highly collaborative global network, where resources, methodologies, tools and trends are constantly updated and shared to develop simple answers to complex treasury challenges. What’s more, you’ll integrate seamlessly with other EY functions to effectively provide for our clients, so you can expect to build relationships with contacts across the business. We’ll look to you to engage with current topics, technologies and trends, identifying new and creative ways to share our message and deliver our services more effectively. It’s all about understanding our clients’ industries, challenges and needs so we can challenge current thinking to enhance treasury operations for existing and prospective clients. Making that happen is likely to include significant travel, usually within the US, visiting our clients personally on their own sites.

Your key responsibilities

As an Intern on the Global Treasury Services team, you will be responsible forassisting with the successful execution of Treasury engagements by applying hands-on practical skills and experience. You will take ownership of the delivery of high-quality work by supporting a broad range of Treasury projects. These projects may include a variety of Treasury and Finance related topics such as liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, risk management, Treasury technology, corporate transactions and organizational design.Additionally, you will maintain a strong client focus by being responsive to client requests and developing/maintaining productive working relationships with both the client as well as the EY engagement team.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must:

  • Have or be working toward an undergraduate degree in finance or economics, along with the drive to achieve a certified treasury professional (CTP) certification.

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.

  • A highly collaborative approach to work.

  • A passion for client focus and professionalism in managing sensitive client relationships.

  • The mental agility to absorb information and learn a diverse range of important skills right from the start.

  • A strong academic record, including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience and/or prior knowledge of Treasury related topics and processes (e.g., cash management, liquidity and forecasting, payments).

  • Demonstrated leadership through extra-curricular activities and/or student-led University organizations.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Ability to analyze large sets of financial data and prepare reports and visualizations for key stakeholders.

  • Strong technical writing skills.

  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.

  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as rideshare and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

  • The hourly pay range for this job, in the US, is $36.00-$45.19 per hour. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
  • If you join EY full time after your internship, we offer a competitive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.
