As an intern in the Financial Services Risk Technology (FSRT) practice, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on projects that help clients transform the way they manage risk, leverage technology and meet evolving business and regulatory expectations. Through exposure to a variety of services and technologies, you will develop a broad understanding of financial services while building valuable consulting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Your key responsibilities

In this internship role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to client engagements focused on helping financial institutions address business and technology challenges related to risk management, regulatory compliance and digital transformation. You will collaborate with team members and clients to analyze information, support project delivery and help develop solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes.

FSRT offers exposure to a broad range of areas, including financial crime prevention, financial risk management and risk architecture. You may support initiatives that help organizations enhance their processes, modernize technology platforms, improve decision-making and respond to changing market and regulatory requirements. Through this work, you will gain experience with emerging technologies, data-driven solutions and innovative approaches that help organizations operate more effectively and confidently.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must:

• Be pursuing an undergraduate or one year master's degree with a strong foundation in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, data science or data analytics.
• Have an aptitude and/or experience in Java, JavaScript, .Net, Python, C, C++, PHP, web development, analytics focused tools and platforms such as SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, business process design or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, such as SAP or Oracle or integration tools.
• Know how to effectively leverage firm approved AI tools to enhance problem-solving and productivity and have the ability to exercise sound judgment around AI-related risks and considerations.
• Be able to assess and articulate the evolving risks that AI presents to clients across multiple risk domains.
• Understand that the expectation for this role is in person teaming, at a client site or in an EY office, on average 3 days a week depending on the needs of the engagement, project or practice area.
• Have access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
• Be able and willing to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
• Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.
